The Team

Kate Baillie began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while working as a veterinary nurse. She saw the positive results on furry family members of the integration of eastern and western medicine at the veterinary clinic. During the 4 year TCM degree in Victoria, Kate refined her technique, routinely using a combination of acupuncture, cupping, moxa and chinese herbs in her treatments. After graduating, she moved to Cardwell in North Queensland, where she opened the first clinic with her little 7 month old helper in 2009. Tropical Cyclone Yasi came to visit and the clinic had a good swim, then reopened later that year with an additional helper. In 2013, the move to Townsville was made and Townsville Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine opened at Ariya Health on Ingham Road. With the latest addition to the team in mid 2015, the clinic made the final move to Blair Court to improve the team’s work/life balance.

At Townsville Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, we value health and quality of life and do everything we can to improve and maintain it. Along with acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion and dietary & lifestyle advice, we use personalised, achievable methods to help you reach your goals. We have had experience in a wide variety of ailments including chronic pain, infertility, auto-immune disease, paediatrics, recurrent illnesses and a lot of ‘have tried everything else!’ We enjoy a challenge and may be able to assist all members of the family (including four-legged).

Townsville Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine has quite the little team working away to keep the clinic running. Little helpers can sometimes be seen during visits - if this is an issue for you, please just let us know in advance!

With lots of helpers, the new location for the Clinic is now up and running... more photos to come!
